Our customer needed a 3D model of and engine assembly for packaging and design of race engine ancillaries
3D scanning quickly generated a 3D mesh model. Through post processing, key geometry such as face and bore axis were extracted, and CAD surfaces generated.
This resulted in a 3D model of the engine allowing accurate design of ancillaries such as inlet and exhaust system, engine mounts, alternator mountings, cooling interfaces, and wiring loom layout.
