The traditional method would require CNC Machining a tool to allow forming the swept shape in sheet metal.
We 3D printed the end tank as a single use mould tool, this was used as a mould, into which aluminium epoxy resin is poured. Once cured this provided the male tool for pressing the aluminium production end tanks.
By removing the requirement to machine tooling, costs and lead time were reduced.
